YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The agreement to be signed between the parliamen’s of Armenia and Karabakh would regulate the relations between the two parliamen’s–Armenia’s National Assembly Speaker Khosrov Harutiunian said on Thursday before an official visit to Karabakh. Speaking with journalists at the National Press Club–Harutiunian noted that the agreement will allow the realization of a number of interparliamentary projects.
"That agreement will–in fact–de facto mean that Armenia is on the way to recognize Karabakh’s independence–though there is no such provision in the agreement," Harutiunian said.
At the same time–he noted that this should not be turned into a stressed foreign policy line.
"We should not and do not want to create any problems for the regulation of institutional relations between the two independent national states," he stated. "Regardless of the fate of Nagorno-Karabakh and its status–this approach and experience will not do any harm–but only good," Harutiunian said.
