YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–According to some sources–a number of political parties in Armenia are deeply concerned about the current internal political situation in the country. These parties arranged a high-level meeting to confer about ways to improve the situation. The meeting–held at the Office of the Democratic Party of Armenia on December 14–was attended by representatives of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Executive Council of Armenia–Vice-Chairman of the Orinats Yerkir party–Chairman of the Union for Self-Determination–Political Secretary of the Union of Socialist Forces–Chairman of the Republican Board of the Ramkavar-Azatakan Party of Armenia and leader of the Democratic Party of Armenia.
A Noyan Tapan correspondent asked DPA Chairman Aram Sargssian to present the details of the meeting–however–Sargssian refrained from details–simply stating that the meeting and meetings still to come are aimed at combining efforts in order to improve the situation and alleviate current tensions. The meeting participants agreed on holding another meeting next week. Meetings with the country’s president and top legislators are possible after fundamental issues are coordinated.
