STUDIO CITY—Valley Councilmember and Budget and Finance Chair Paul Krekorian endorsed Eric Garcetti for mayor today at the campaign’s Studio City headquarters.
“I am proud to enthusiastically endorse Eric Garcetti for mayor,” Krekorian said. “Right now, more than ever, we need a mayor who will have the courage to deal honestly with the budget challenges we face. We need somebody who’s going to think innovatively about new ways to deliver government services. As mayor, Eric’s going to make sure the San Fernando Valley and all of Los Angeles are the best they can be. Eric Garcetti has the record to prove that he will be a great mayor. We need a leader who has a proven record of engaging communities and empowering people. When you look at the results in Council District 13 that Councilmember Garcetti’s been able to achieve, you can see a model for so much of what needs to be done throughout our city. Council District 13 has led our city in employment growth, and Eric Garcetti has stood with me in fighting to keep the film and television industry here, to keep those jobs here in the Valley and throughout Los Angeles.”
“Paul Krekorian is a powerful advocate for his Valley constituents and the fiscal reform that L.A. needs,” Garcetti said. “I am proud to have Paul Krekorian’s support and look forward to working with him to create jobs and solve problems for L.A. residents in every community.”
Krekorian represents Council District 2, the seat formerly held by Wendy Greuel. It includes North Hollywood, Studio City, Sun Valley, Valley Village, Van Nuys and Valley Glen. He is a Valley native and attorney who previously served in the state Assembly, where he was known as a champion for our entertainment industry.
Krekorian brings to Garcetti’s campaign his focus on balancing the city’s budget, creating jobs, protecting our film and television industry by stopping runaway production and building strong neighborhoods.
