LOS ANGELES–Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–Western Prelate of the Armenian Apostolic Church–in response to an invitation from Eastern US and Canada Prelate Archbishop Mesrob Ashjian left Tuesday for New York to join the entourage of His Holiness Aram I–Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia–on his first Pontifical visit to the Eastern US and Canada.
Aram I is scheduled to arrive on the East Coast Wednesday. Prelate Mardirossian is scheduled to remain with Aram I’s entourage through Oct. 12–during which time he will visit New York–New Jersey–Philadelphia–Washington and Granite City. The Prelate is scheduled to participate in several holy masses during his visit to the East Coast.
Prelate Mardirossian will rejoin the Catholicos’ entourage from Nov. 4 through 10 in Montreal representing the western region during the Pontifical visit.
