ATHENS (Azad Or)–On Friday–November 24–President Kocharian concluded his official visit to Greece–where he met with various officials and members of the Armenian community.
Kocharian met with Prime Minister Kostas Simitis and other ministers to discuss bilateral issues–particularly economic matters. The president also visited the Athens Museum and met with Greek Spiritual Leader Archbishop Khrisostidoulos.
In the Greek Capital–it was declared that Athens and Yerevan were sister cities–and documen’s were signed by the mayors of both cities. A similar agreement was signed between Thesaloniki and Gumri. Kocharian had meetings in Thesaloniki with the local Armenian community.
The Armenia’s of Athens held a gathering at the Intercontinental Hotel in honor of Kocharian before he left for Armenia.
