IRVINE–"Turmoil in Armenia" is the challenging subject of an upcoming lecture by Prof. Stephan Astourian at the University of California, Irvine, scheduled for Saturday, April 26 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Prof. Astourian, who was educated at the Sorbonne University in Paris and UCLA, is the Director of the Armenian Studies Program at UC Berkeley and Adjunct Professor in the Department of History at the same university. The lecture is organized by the Orange County Armenian Professional Society in collaboration with the Armenian Students Association of UCI.
Prof. Astourian will address the pre election atmosphere, the elections and the post election turmoil that brought havoc to an otherwise stable Armenia. He will analyze the role of the opposition, the social, economic and political atmosphere within the context of the geopolitical reality of Armenia.
