YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Nagorno Karabakh Prosecutor General Mavrik Ghoukassian said at a press conference on March 12 that the number of crimes in Nagorno Karabakh has doubled over the last 4 years.
Nevertheless–he added that all the registered crimes have been revealed. Ghoukassian also touched upon the bribery that intrudes both the court and the state systems.
In response to the question on what measures the Prosecutor’s Office takes for returning overdue credits–the Prosecutor General pointed out that in such circumstances the court system accuses not only the debtor–but also the creditor of weak control over the contract process–as well as of frequently presenting unsubstantiated credits.
In response to the question whether it is true that Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous region former commander Samvel Babayan is in Yerevan–Ghoukassian answered Babayan–imprisoned for 14 years–is currently serving his term in Shushi prison.
