YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The promotion and further development of the scientific fields in Armenia were the subjects discussed at the annual general assembly of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences–which opened on Wednesday.
Research results from 12 institutes and four science centers have shown that Armenia needs a more direct course in the science fields–said ANAS Vice President Emil Gabrielian. He also said that the preparation of the scientific staff and the structure of institutes and science centers need reforms in order to ensure success in the scientific programs.
According to Gabrielian–the financing of the scientific fields also needs major reforms. He concluded the meeting by saying that it has been difficult for research companies to purchase the most basic scientific instrumen’s which should be provided to the institutions through base financing.
