YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The construction of Yerevan’s Northern Avenue will begin in mid-January. According to the chief architect of Yerevan–Narek Mesropian–houses and other buildings at the corner of Tumanyan and Teryan streets and in nearby territories will be constructed on the basis of agreemen’s signed with residents before the project began. He went on to say that depending on the type of the building–degree of repair and other factors–$250-$600 will be given to residents for each square meter of living space they plan to renovate.
The buildings in Northern Avenue (from the Opera House to the Picture Gallery building) will be completed by spring. Large-scale construction on Northern Avenue is expected to begin after the buildings are built.
If the current weather conditions persist–the program to restore the Komitas Pantheon will begin in January.
