LONDON–March 13 (Itar-Tass) – Russia’said had practically begun work to restore the pipeline running through the republics of Dagestan and Chechnya–which will transport oil produced in Azerbaijan’s offshore zone in the Caspian Sea–an official said on Thursday.
The statement was made by visiting Russia’s first deputy fuel and energy minister Viktor Ott.
According to Ott–the Azeri section of the pipeline is almost completed–and today–the line between Tikhoretsk an Novorossiisk is being repaired.
"Aside from the pipeline running to Novorossiisk–Baku has no other option to transport early oil from the Caspian field," he said.
