YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Russian-Armenian Investment Forum that has brought dozens of Russian businessmen to Yerevan–many of them of Armenian origin–will focus on further developing economic cooperation between the two nations. The forum opened in Yerevan on Tuesday.
The decision to hold the forum was reached at a meeting of the Armenian-Russian inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation held in February. The Russian delegation at the forum is led by its co-chairman–who is the Russian Minister of Industry–Science and Technology Ilya Klebanov.
The ambassador of the Russian Federation in Armenia Anatoly Dryukov–expressed that the forum will create an opportunity for businessmen of both countries to enlarge the framework of cooperation in order to develop new mutually beneficial investment programs and to make new trade deals.
Russian and Armenian business executives will discuss investment programs and projects–finalize commercial deals–and exchange views and problems on the economy–industry–finances–banking and legislation. They will also hold a meeting with Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan.
