YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The delegation of Russian Federal Security Service led by its Director–General of the Army Nikolay Patrushev was in Armenia July 23-25. The delegation also included Patrushev’s deputies and leaders of various departmen’s of security service.
As it was reported from the press office of Armenian Security Service–a meeting of Russian delegation with authority of Armenian Ministry of National Security took place on July 24. The Armenian side was represented by Minister for National Security Lieutenant-General Karlos Petrossian–his deputies and leaders of main departmen’s of the ministry.
During the meeting both sides presented the results of their countries’ work in the spheres of struggle against international terrorism–illegal migration–organized crime–as well as against crimes in the sphere of computer technology. Also discussed were issues concerning the bilateral cooperation and information exchange between Security Services of the two countries.
In his speech–the leader of the Russian delegation Patrushev stated that Armenia–with its structures and special services–is one of the main partners of Russia and Russian similar structures. According to him–the professionalism of Armenian security service’s employees allows to hope that the struggle against international terrorism–organized crime will always be carried on a high level.
During the meeting an agreement on regular exchange of information concerning the above mentioned spheres between Armenian and Russian special services was reached. It was also agreed to hold meetings of experts–which will allow to preserve the cooperation and partnership on its level. After the meeting a final document was signed–as well as a number of statemen’s attached to the main agreement were approved.
In the end of the meeting awards were delivered to the representatives of Armenian and Russian security services for achieving positive results in cooperation.
By the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin–Armenian Minister for National Security Lieutenant-General Karlos Petrossian was decorated with the order of Friendship–which was delivered by Patrushev.
