MOSCOW (Reuters–Itar-Tass)–Armenian Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan met Anatoly Kvashnin–head of the Russian armed forces General Staff–on Wednesday and discussed expanding military cooperation–a defense ministry spokesman’said.
Kvashnin is a deputy defense minister in Moscow. The ministry spokesman gave no further details of their talks.
There was no immediate information about the content of the talks–but the sides said they were of "businesslike character," reported the Itar-Tass news agency.
Sargsyan will meet the Minister for the Commonwealth of Independent States–Leonid Drachevsky–in the afternoon.
The prime minister is also expected to meet chairman of the gas company Gazprom Rem Vyakhirev and State Duma lower house deputy speaker Artur Chilingarov.
Several documen’s–including on financial and economic co- operation–are expected to be signed during the visit.
