
Hampig Sassounian called for peace in Artsakh, saying “war and violence will not solve any problems.”
In a letter obtained by Asbarez, Sassounian, writing from his prison cell at San Quentin State Prison, expressed his concern over the outbreak of military hostilities in Karabakh and called for an to the fighting “and have peaceful dialogue.”
“Many young men have lost their lives,” said Sassounian in this letter. “I hope no more blood will be spilled.”
Citing that France, the United States, Russia and the Pope have called for an end to fighting, Sassounian said urged the sides to “stop the war and save many lives. “War will not solve any problems. Dialogue will.”
