YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The seminar titled "Armenia’s economy: investmen’s and development" will take place today at Tekiyan Centre in Yerevan. Organized and hosted by the Armenian-European Policy and Legal Advice Center (AEPLAC)–the seminar will address both policy makers and the business community who seek to find ways to overcome impedimen’s affecting business and investment in Armenia.
In the framework of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the European Communities and their Member States–the EU and Armenia have established a relationship to support Armenia’s efforts to complete the transition into a market economy–promote trade and investment and to foster sustainable economic development. Despite certain progress in various reform areas–Armenia has failed to create the foundations necessary for such development. The seminar will focus on the need for investment–including the foreign direct investment (FDI) to ensure sustainable growth and reduce poverty.
