YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)-Senator Mitch McConnel (R-Ga.) visited the Central Bank of Armenia with Armenia’s Minister of Economy and Finance Armen Darbinian–Central Bank Chairman Bagrat Assatrian and other officials–Monday.
As reported by the Central Bank–during the meeting–the sides discussed Armenia’s economy–reforms in banking and financial spheres–the course of reforms realized by international organizations–in particular technical aid to Armenia’s government and the Central Bank rendered by the US government and USAID.
Guests were informed of the economic policy of Armenia–development processes–Armenia’s integration into international organizations–efforts to stimulate foreign investment–as well as efforts to develop banking and monetary structures.
Central Bank officials spoke in detail about the updated system of electronic banking the installation of which was mostly funded by USAID.
The sides reached an agreement on further cooperation.
