YEREVAN (Aravot)-About 40 percent of Yerevan residents say they are optimistic that the new Armenian Government is working to improve the situation in the country, according to a recent survey conducted by the APR Group.
The survey, which questioned by telephone 663 Yerevan Residents, was conducted on May 8-14 at the request of Aravot Daily newspaper. Its findings were published on Thursday.
The survey found that although 43.59 % of Yerevan residents felt that the new government had no intention of making real changes, 41.63 believed that the Government was genuinely working toward improving the country’s situation.
The same survey asked participants who they believed was the most professional minister in Armenia’s Government. 8.3 % of those who answer the question agreed that Minister of Agriculture Davit Lokian was the most professional of his peers. Lokian, who is a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation’s Parliamentary faction, was reappointed to his post in early April as part of Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s new Government.
Coming in a close second was Health Minister Harutiun Kushkian with 6.64 % of those answering the question agreeing he was the most professional government minister.
When respondents were asked who they thought was the most honest minister, 2.71 % of those who answered the question said they believed Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan was the most honest of his peers. The next most honest minister was Lokian, with 2.11%.
