ANKARA (Trend)—Turkey’s Ambassador to the US, Nabi Sensoy, Friday signaled his government’s intentions to influence the Nagorno-Karabakh peace talks through its ongoing process to normalize relations with Armenia, the Azeri Trend News Agency reported.
Turkey and Armenia signed agreements on October 10 calling for the opening of borders and the normalization of relations between the two countries. The agreements cannot go into effect until the parliaments of both countries ratifies them. Turkey has held up the process in its National Assembly, demanding that the Karabakh conflict be resolved in Azerbaijan’s favor before relations with Armenia can be normalized.
“Turkey will continue its efforts aimed at active encouragement of the final solution of the [Karabakh] conflict,” Sensoy said in an interview with Trend.
“We think that this will prove useful not only to the bilateral relationship between Turkey and Armenia, but also in terms of making positive contributions to the peace, stability and security in the South Caucasus, especially in the region rife with ‘frozen’ problems,” Sensoy said.
He said Ankara believes that the protocols, which extract major concessions from Armenia in terms of economic, political and legal rights, are channeling Armenia-Turkey relations in a new “extremely beneficial” direction.
Ask yourselves, why would the protocols that Sargsian claims to be “beneficial for Armenia”, be created in secrecy? His presidency is a sham and so is his reasoning. The diaspora must take the gloves off and make it very clear to this moron that the great majority of Armenians want him to end this dangerous protocols and hold him personally responsible for it’s negative consequences.
Dream on MR. Ambassador…just won’t happen…the civilized world will put a stop to Turkey’ politics of interference…and most importantly to Turkey’s regional ambitions…One Ottoman Empire was more than enough..
