YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Ragyp Zarakolu–a Turkish intellectual who published the Turkish version of Franz Werfel’s novel 40 Days of Musa Dagh–met with teachers–intellectuals and public figures at a school in the town of Abovian September 17. The meeting was held upon the initiative of the Department of Science and Education of the Kotayk Regional Administration.
The meeting proceeded in a warm atmosphere. Zarakolu presented his activities in recent years. He said he had brought with him 11,700 signatures of Turks and Kurds who affirm and condemn the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and demand that the problems connected with the consequences of the Genocide be settled. "I am an Armenian as long as the Genocide of Armenia’s is not affirmed," the Turkish intellectual declared.
