YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President of the Armenian Engineering Academy (AEA) Yuri Khojamirian–and Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Nikolay Hovannessian were elected members of the International Academy of Sciences "Ararat this week."
The founder and President of the "Ararat" academy–Hakob Krkyasharian–congratulated the scientists and stressed the huge role public scientific organizations have in developing Armenia’s scientific potential both in Armenia and in other countries.
Krkyasharian said the aim of the "Ararat" academy was to propagandize the Armenian culture and spread its scientific potential in different countries. According to him–in the near future–the academy will implement two projects. The first one is to open a special clinic at the State Emergency Management Administration of Armenia. The second project will establish a depository in France for old Armenian man’scripts.
"That project is of great importance because private citizens in the Diaspora have priceless man’scripts by Armenian people," Krkyasharian said.
The "Ararat" Academy headquarters is located in Paris. Together with Armenian scientists–the academy also involves foreign scientists who cooperate with Armenian scientists. The "Ararat" academy is recognized by the UN and UNESCO.
