YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The UN Armenia Office is carrying out considerable work in our country–and the switch-over from assistance programs to development programs is in full conformity with the government’s policy–Armenian Prime Minister Aram Sargsyan said at his meeting with UN Undersecretary Krudering and UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Katica Cekalovic.
Krudering pointed out that he has seen considerable progress in Armenia and expressed optimism that in the near future the same will be said of the other countries of the region. He stated that the UN programs are implemented without any preliminary conditions and are aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region. Cekalovic outlined the UN programs currently being implemented in Armenia as well as those to be launched in the near future. She pointed out that the UN Armenia Office is willing to support and participate in the World Bank business forum to be held in London next May. The UN Armenia Office is currently engaged in elaborating programs of industrial development the promotion of exports.
