YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"Commen’s recently made by leaders of public and political organizations regarding the October 27 events have created tension and led to an atmosphere of mistrust," a statement issued by the Unity bloc says.
Admitting that there is large-scale interest and involvement of public and political forces in the course of the investigation into the October 27 events–the Unity bloc at the same time stresses that the investigation should not have any pressure exerted upon it.
The Unity bloc deman’s the following:
* Investigation group should continue the probe in a normal way and should not succumb to pressure or influence;
* The president and prime minister should ensure control needed for unbiased investigation–take steps to bring political programs of the National Television in accordance with the role of this structure–and relieve the public of unnecessary tension–dangerous tendencies–acceleration of suspiciousness and fear.
The statement was signed by chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia Andranik Margarian and acting chairman of the People’s Party of Armenia Stepan Demirchian–Karen Demirchian’s son.
