BAKU (Noyan Tapan)–United States Special Envoy Steven Sestonovich–met with Azeri President Gaidar Aliyev and Interior Minister Hassan Hassanov Wednesday to work out what the two sides are calling "final arrangemen’s" to end the conflict between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
Aliyev noted during the meetings Wednesday that the United States government would also have to intervene in Central Asia and the Transcauasus regions in order to ensure stability in both parts of the world–which could affect the outcome of any negotiations. Aliyev also reiterated that all sides to the conflict would have to cooperate and work together in order to bring about peace.
Sestonovich has promised some kind of action by Nov. 12 regarding resolution of the conflict.
"Our meetings in Baku have paved a clear path for conflict resolution," Sestonovich said.
