YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Defendant in the so-called "Trial of 31" case Vahan Hovanessian was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after suffering an apparant heart attack during Tuesday’s court session.
An ambulance was called to the courthouse during a break from the trial proceedings and rushed the defendant to the hospital.
After examining Hovanessian–doctors announced that he had suffered a mild heart attack–but was well enough to continue attending his trial.
The medical incident ran a scare throughout the courthouse–with co-defendants–council–prosecution and judge all concerned about Hovanessian. Although the defendant urged the court to continue–the presiding judge called a recess until Thursday.
Hovanessian walked back to his cell.
