WASHINGTON (World Bulletin)–A senior U.S. State Department official on Monday called on Turkey and Armenia to ratify a pair protocols signed last October to normalize relations and open borders, Worldbulettin.com reported.
Philip Gordon, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, told a press conference that Turkey and Armenia need to move forward in ratifying and implementing the two agreements. “We believe this is an opportunity to overcome really historic differences between the two countries in a way that would benefit both,” Gordon said.
“To establish normalized relations between the two countries and open the border would contribute to peace and stability in the region, and we think that is true regardless of other issues – that it needs to move forward independently of other issues, simply because it is in the interest of the two countries,” he said.
Gordon said that U.S. government was in touch with both governments and that Obama Administration has encouraged them to move forward on the dramatic fence mending deal. “Turkey-Armenia normalization is a good thing in and of itself and it should move forward because of that,” he added.
Good boy Gordon, now sit! Now stand! Roll over boy, roll over! That’s a good Gordy! Big mama Hilary can give you a treat now. Good job!
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love it.
In other words this ill-fated at best, so called “fence mending deal” is a good thing for the US and its interests in the region alone and therefore it should be enacted without reservation????????? Ya! that’s a good sell on a crap shoot deal! So Gordon tell me again why Armenia should fall head over heels over this most obtuse and ludicrous set of concessions in relinquishing our legal rights?
They want to shut the border between Armenia and Iran. The state department needs to learn that Armenia does not need Turkey. The border between Armenia and Georgia and Iran are open.
Hillary needs to learn how to kiss a$$ better. That starts with a lot more money to Armenia and Artsagh than the stipen crums they have thrown. It means recognizing the Armenian Genocide, and I mean fast. So far, she hasn’t done diddly.
The protocols are dead. Hillary wants to resurrect them from the dead. May the deniers and their complicit world bodies go to Jahenem and quickly.
BRAVO Raymond
BLA BLA BLA BLAAAAAAAAAA
GLASS OF MINIRAL WATER;
I LIKE IT!!!!
What has changed since after the genocide?? The U.S. government still is a slave to Turkey’s policy of keeping the Armenian genocide from being recognized nationally. We must ask ourselves does America’s democracy have balls to stand up to Turkey?? There is not one politician that has said to the Armenian American community that they would stand up to Turkey, not only about the genocide, but for the continued discrimination against different ethnicities which have cost lives. Some have said that they will recognize the massacres as genocide in their campaigns, but once in office they don’t have the balls to mention genocide. It seems as if this is a continuing trend among politicians running for President. We must take a stronger stance now against the American government. One action we can take is a week long protest in front of the white house protesting Obama’s broken promise, protesting the governments pursuit of the ratification of the protocols, our rights to claim our land, and for reparations which Turkey must pay. This will not only be for the Armenians in Washington but it should be a nationwide protest where Armenians all over the United States should take part in. That is just a suggestion. If it seems as if it too much where people might say ” I have work” or “I’m too busy”, lets not forget what our grandparents and great grandparents went through during the genocide. We must have more protests often rather than only on April 24th. Its time to step up the fight. How much longer will they step on our necks?
Gordon for heaven’s sake, you and Hilary go and mind your bisss… How would you like to step aside from your United States’ Constitutional Court’s ruling and put your U.S.A. in harms way with a belligerent country right next door?
Like Souze said above, we have open borders right next door to Armenia and Artsakh; Iran and Georgia. Enough already…. stay out of it U.S.A. Don’t go manipulating our government and put us in horrible situations of losing our one and only little landlocked Armenia – we waited for it for soooooo long. Get out of our business!!!!!!!!!!
BRAVO NAIRIAN,

“Ayskan charik teh moranan mer vortik togh vokhch ashkharh garta hayun nakhadink”.
Այսքան չարիք թէ մորանան մեր որդիք, թող ողջ աշխարհ կարդայ Հայուն նախատինք:
USA dictates Turkey’s foreign policy with respect to Armenian and Artsakh. USA wants to set aside the Wilsonian Arbitration Award so that she will not have obligation of enforcing it against Turkey.
Remember how Hillary kidnapped Nalbandian and forced him to sign the so called protocols. Now, USA saying that the protocols must be ratified and implemented. All international effort pressuring Armenian officials failed, when the decision of the Constitutional Court was announced. Protocols are dead. I believe, they are preparing another set of protocols against Artsakh. We have to fight them to victory as well. Long Live Armenians and Armenia! Amen!
Do not trust H. Clinton nor Phillip Gordon. The turks have fooled these two and they want now to fool the Armenians! No to Genocide deniers…
CAN SOME ARMENIAN JOURNALIST ASK POINT BLANK TO MR.GORDON;DO YOU BELEVE THAT THE TURCS COMMITED GENOSIDE OR NOT.WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL OPINION ON THE SUBJECT?
i agree with Philip above 100%!! let’s go! let’s get going, we have a mission! we have to do it no one will do it for me and you, we have to stand up to them and for our rights! it’s up to us and we are up to it! we must show our faces, and our voices, our arms and banners! we have a lot to say, we have to defend ourselves, can’t leave it to someone else to do it for us! shoulder to shoulder we are unstoppable, we are alive and kicking!
Hye, in short, the U.S. State Department/Turkey are a prime example of the children’s story
of THE EMPORER’S CLOTHES… Turkey thinks they have arrived, they are the one and only
nation – truth: as in story, it ain’t. State Department just doesn’t know how to let go of the
‘monster’ they’ve created… and sadly, a Turkey acts as though it is – and deserving – more.
From a children’s tale – but, as with ‘tales’ (hakeeyats) it tells truths… Manooshag
In the meantime, please check how Today’s Zaman is portraying the statement made by Philip Gordon. Compare it to the official transcript of the talk given by the US official as shown on the US Department of State website and see how the Turkish press is trying to lull their readers into believing what suits them. I have given here below links to both websites to show how vigilant the Armenian Press, the general public both in Armenia and the diaspora ought to be not only in fighting such distortions on a daily basis but presenting effectively, efficiently and promptly appropriate responses to such tendencious press reports whose aim is to turn misinformation into perceived factual notions. The Turkish press has highly respected representatives and it is a pity that Today’s Zaman has chosen in this instance to ignore veracity to support an archaic official position.
