YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Azeri online news magazine–RealniyAzerbaijan–reported last week that during his press conference in Baku–Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Michel Dane said that–"a part of Azerbaijani territory is occupied by another country and Azerbaijan can prevent the growing of narcotics containing plants and their dissemination in Nagorno Karabagh’s territory either through diplomatic or military ways."
Azeri mass media reported that at the press conference Dane said "the Azerbaijani side has provided to him facts that the occupied territories are used for the growing of narcotics containing plants and disseminating them."
After receiving this information–the Armenian Foreign Affairs Ministry press service said that the Armenian embassy in Brussels asked Dane about these commen’s.
The Secretary General by flatly rejected having made the statemen’s attributed to him by RealniyAzerbaijan. He said that during the press conference he was asked several questions concerning Karabagh–but Dane did not answer them–saying that WCO is just a technical body that deals with customs issues–it is the leaders of states who should deal with political issues in a diplomatic way.
