GLENDALE–His Grace Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–the Prelate–and the Religious and the Executive Councils of the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Church of America are happy to announce that a new Prelacy building has been purchased in Glendale.
The two-story office building is located on Honolulu Boulevard in close proximity to the V. and A. Chamlian School. "The purchase of this building realizes a long standing dream that we have pursued since the start of our mission as Prelate," said Bishop Mardirossian. He further emphasized that consecutive Executive Councils have worked continuously in order to find a suitable building to accommodate the varied and extensive functions and responsibilities of the Prelacy. "This important milestone event was achieved by the moral and financial support of our community–our people and our parishioners–as well as the philanthropists who made generous donations to the Prelacy Building Fund during the last few years. We thank them all for recognizing and helping achieve the needs of our Prelacy," continued Bishop Mardirossian. The Prelate also made it clear that the renovation and the furnishing of the new Prelacy building will require the cooperation–assistance and continued contribution of the Armenian Community of the Western Prelacy.
The new building was purchased for 1.5 million dollars. The greater part of this sum was provided from the Prelacy Building Fund–with the balance being financed. The Executive Council also intends to form a committee of specialized and experienced individuals to plan the renovation of the building in order better accommodate the needs of the Prelacy in carrying out its mission. "We are confident that we will achieve our goals with the aid of our benefactors and the contributions of our Parishes and Parishioners," concluded His Grace.
