LOS ANGELES–An official delegation of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Central Committee of the Western United State met with Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian on Tuesday to discuss a number of issues.
The meeting–which took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles–lasted well beyond an hour–and a host of topics were discussed by the two sides.
Oskanian–along with Defense Minister Vazgen Sarkisian –have been named the co-chairpersons of the September 1999 Armenia-Diaspora conference–and the meeting in Los Angeles centered on preparation and implementation issues of the September conference. In addition–several issues concerning the development of Armenia-Diaspora relations were also discussed.
The ARF delegation expressed its praise for the Armenian government on its initiative to hold the Armenia-Diaspora conference–and also offered its thoughts on the further cultivation of relations between the two entities. Underscoring the ARF delegation’s thoughts was the necessity of dual citizenship.
The ARF delegation consisted of ARF CC representatives Hovig Saliba–Avedis Ispenjian–Arsen Danielian–Mardig Gaboudian and Bedig Kazanjian. Also present at the meeting was Armenia’s Consul General to Los Angeles Armen Melkonian.
