YEREVAN(Armenpress)–In Washington on December 14–the Armenian government and the International Development Agency of the World Bank signed a loan agreement whose funds will go for reformation of Armenian legal sector.
The agreement was signed by Armenian ambassador to Washington Arman Kirakosian and head of World Bank Armenia office Judy O’Connor.
According to the Armenian foreign ministry–the World Bank has committed itself to provide $8.6 million to promote conduction of legal reforms in Armenia in 2001-2004 targeting the strengthening of legal and judicial structures–improvement of the process of implementation of judicial decisions–retraining of judicial sector’s employees–as well as dissemination of legal information and raising of public awareness about legal issues.
