YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The implementation of programs in the sphere of education and public health being financed by the World Bank has fallen behind schedule–Prime Minister Armen Darbinian told his cabinet–drawing special attention to the process of privatization in the above-mentioned spheres–as well as to the reforms in the system of control and state borders.
The need for more active work in the public health sector was also addressed.
According to the prime minister–many ministries have yet to submit their proposals to the Ministry of Privatization regarding the schedule and strategy of privatization of facilities in this system. All ministers were instructed to sum up the results and submit relevant conceptual proposals within a week’s period.
"Otherwise–it will imply that some ministers are not fully aware of what is happening in their spheres of activity," said Darbinian.
The government instructed the ministers of territorial management and social welfare to submit a draft budget on the pension and community funds needed to form a state budget for 1999.
