YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–World Bank Regional Director Judy O’Connor is due to arrive in Armenia on August 3.
During her visit she will meet with President Robert Kocharian–National Assembly Speaker Karen Demirchian and Prime Minister Vazgen Sargssian. O’Connor will also meet with Minister of Economy Armen Darbinian–Minister of Finance Levon Barkhoudarian–Minister of Energy David Zadoyan–Minister of Agriculture Gagik Shahbazian–Minister of Social Welfare Razmik Martirossian–Minister of Public Health Hayk Nikoghossian–as well as with the chairman of the financial and economic commission of the National Assembly Vardan Khachatrian.
The meetings will revolve around the issues connected with the World Bank projects in Armenia–the problem of attracting private investors and other regional projects including the construction of a road connecting Armenia and Georgia. They will also discuss the terms to an agreement that will allocate $25 million to Armenia.
O’Connor will travel to the towns of Aigevan–Armavir–Yervand and Zartonk to study the coarse of health–agricultural–business programs initiated under the credit program of the World Bank.
