YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The new Eurasian Division of the World Scout Committee will be headquartered in Yerevan–WSC special program director Jane Casigno–WSC CIS coordinator Alexander Bondar and President of the National Scout Committee of Armenia (HASG) Haroutiun Haroutiunian announced Tuesday during their meeting with Prime Minister Robert Kocharian. The WSC representatives arrived in Armenia to resolve organizational issues related to the April general assembly of WSC-Eurasian Division to be held in Yerevan.
It was highlighted during the meeting that the national scout movement of Armenia was the first to become a full member of the World Scout Organization from among the CIS-member countries. It was also reported that HASG will be attending the world scout jamboree in Chile later this year and then the WSC meeting in South Africa where it will be issued an international certificate.
