YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"Education has always been very important for Armenia’s. No nation can be considered civilized without a high level of education. A good education will help us find our place in life and earn our living in these hard social and economic conditions," said senior students from Yerevan and Yeghvard schools during a panel discussion on educational problems. The discussion was held within the framework of the "Ship of the Future" international program–which is being implemented in Armenia by the all-Armenian Union of Women with the assistance of UNICEF.
The participants in the panel discussion pointed to the need for raising teachers’ salary and expressed a wish that subjects such as law–economy and others should be introduced in the curriculum.
Talking to a Noyan Tapan reporter–the vice-chairwoman of the AUW–Natalia Martirossian said that the program is aimed at attracting young people to discussing the most pressing problems of the future. The program is being implemented in 70 countries around the world.
