ISTANBUL (News.az)–Azeri President Ilham Aliyev met with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul on Thursday on the sidelines of a regional economic cooperation summit in Istanbul.
The two heads of state discussed the development of friendly and fraternal relations between their countries along a number of economic and political spheres and spoke about the prospects for expanding energy cooperation, according to News.az.
The two leaders also discussed their approaches to resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Aliyev, earlier in the day met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two held talks on bilateral relations and the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Aliyev also met with his Kyrgyz counterpart, President Roza Otunbayeva a day earlier. The two discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.
