The 9th Circuit Court

GLENDALE—The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region and the Armenian Bar Association will be co-hosting a town hall forum on Wednesday, March 30 to discuss the recent developments and implications of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals’ December 2010 ruling in Movsesian v. Victoria Versicherung AG et al. The event will take place at the Saint Mary Armenian Church Hall in Glendale (500 S. Central Avenue) at 7:30pm.
Central to the case, is the constitutionality of a California law extending the statute of limitations to bring claims regarding Armenian Genocide era insurance policies.
The town hall revisits a similar 2009 event featuring moderator Harout Sasounian and panelists Mark Geragos, Esq., Steven Dadaian Esq., Seto Boyadjian Esq., and representatives from the ABA.
In light of the current procedural posture of the case, the same participants have been invited to further explore the implications of the 9th Circuit’s most recent ruling as well as implications looking forward to a possible en banc rehearing and/or petition to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Attorneys who attend the event will earn 2.0 hours of MCLE credit, at no cost.

Why is Geragos on the panel?
He was fired by the Plaintiff’s in the Movsesian, et al. case. several weeks ago.
This is a matter of public record and can be verified with the court.
The District Court Case No. is CV-03-9407 and the Court of
    Appeals Case No. is 07-56722.
