Syrian army soldiers ride on their military trucks.

DEIR-EZ-ZOR, Syria—An ethnic Armenian soldier has been killed in military operations in Syria’s Deir-ez-Zor city.

According to the Aleppo-based Armenian weekly Gandzasar, the new victim has been identified as Hakob Saba, 21. He was conscripted from Aleppo.

The situation in Syria’s economic capital has been tense in the past days. An Armenian Catholic prelacy and church came under fire recently.

Over 100 Armenians have been killed since the eruption of the war in the country. Many among them were reported to be conscripts.

Fellow Armenians, it is very sad but extremely necessary for Syrian Armenians to sacrifice their lives for the government of Syria. As an Armenian Syrian, I support strongly the present president of Syria our beloved Bashar Al-Assad who has helped Armenians (along with his late father, Hafez Al-Assad).

The truth and facts prove that without the help and support of the Syrian government, Armenians and all other Christians in Syria will not be able to survive in Syria if the present government falls. The West does not understand this fact. Long live and God bless Armenians and president Bashar Al-Assad.

I once said this, I will say it again..
We as Christians are not welcomed in these countries. Any country with a Mosque and we must had left long time ago. Why we don’t get this? I know it’s easy to say. I know generations of Armenians have lived there after our genocide by barbaric Turks. Now history repeats itself. We MUST leave these countries. We don’t have anything to do there. Either go to our homeland or settle in Christian country.
