BAKU (News.az)—Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry will focus its diplomatic efforts in 2011 on pressuring Armenia over the Karabakh conflict.
“This year Azerbaijan’s diplomats will raise the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by the Armenian armed forces at all international forums without exception,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Elkhan Polukhov was quoted by Novosti-Azerbaijan as saying.
“The aim of Azerbaijani diplomacy is the rapid and bloodless liberation of Karabakh from the Armenian occupiers,” he said, adding that the Foreign Ministry’s job is to use all possible international forums to force Armenia and the international community of the need for strict compliance with international law in ensuring the territorial integrity of states.
Elkhan made his remarks at a press conference devoting to reviewing the Foreign Ministry’s activities in 2010.
