YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Edward Yegorian–a leader of the "Democratic Motherland" Party–died suddenly Tuesday night at the age of 45–presumably of a heart attack.
Yegorian was one of the leaders of the former ruling Armenian National Movement party since its formation in 1989. In particular–he was known for his active participation in the creation of the new Constitution adopted in 1995. In 1996–he left the ANM with a group of his supporters and created a new opposition party.
