WikiLeaks: Erdogan Calls WikiLeaks Meeting With Davutoglu

ANKARA (Hurriyet)—Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting late Thursday with his foreign minister and chief EU negotiator to discuss the release of thousands of classified US diplomatic cables by WikiLeaks, the Hurriyet Daily News & Economic Review reported Friday.

“Not only the WikiLeaks incident, but also some other foreign policy issues were discussed in the meeting,” Turkish foreign ministry officials told Hurriyet.

Erdogan reportedly called Davutoglu, who met U.S. Secretary State of Hillary Clinton during a visit to Washington during the week, to the Ankara meeting to discuss the latest leaked cables. Davutoglu was scheduled to visit to Astana on Thursday but reportedly cancelled his appointments to stop in Ankara.

Whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks has made public a number of secret and classified diplomatic cables that detail the alleged activities of a number of Turkish officials and prominent figures in the ruling Justice and Development Party, or AKP, although none of the claims are supported by any evidence.

Perhaps, WikiLeaks have in its possession top secretes of the Prime Minister Erdogans’ sincerity about warm-up’s towards Arab Countries of Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. That is why he is rattled.
