BAKU (Trend)–His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenia’s was invited to a conference on inter-religious dialogue scheduled to tale place next fall in the Azeri capital.

“I and Alexi II, Patriarch of All Moscow and Russia are co-chairmen of Inter-Religious Advisory Council. All representatives across the world as well as Armenia’s are also members of this Council. Therefore Armenia’s will also be invited to the conference to be held in Baku,” chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Clerical Board Sheik-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade told a press conference on Monday.

The conference is scheduled for Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, 2009.

“Not inviting Armenia’s to international conference in Baku harms initiatives on inter-religious dialogue. It is up to Armenia’s whether to accept our proposal,” added Pashazade, adding that the Catholicos had expressed his willingness to meet with him.

Pope Benedict XVI has also been invited to the conference, explained Pashazade.
